Dathan Ritzenhein Withdraws from Boston Marathon with Injury

Dathan Ritzenhein has withdrawn from the B.A.A. Boston Marathon. Ritzenhein posted on Twitter about his announcement.

Devastated to say I won’t be racing Boston Marathon. I am truly gutted by this now. Best of luck to all my fellow runners who have earned their spot and are racing this Monday. A little more posted below. pic.twitter.com/dK8jOo6fKP

Ritzenhein is a former American record holder at 5,000 meters and has a marathon personal best of 2:07:47 from the 2012 Chicago Marathon.

However, in recent years, Ritzenhein has struggled with injuries. The last marathon he completed was the 2015 Boston Marathon.
