Kosgei wins women's race in Boston - Universal Sports

Salina Kosgei of Kenya used a last-second surge to edge Dire Tune of Ethiopia for the women's title at the Boston Marathon.

Tune, the defending women's champion, and Kosgei ran behind American Kara Goucher for the better part of the final five miles of the race. The two pulled away from Goucher over the final 1,000 meters.

Kosgei and Tune rounded the final turn onto Boyleston Street and began a final 400-meter jockey for positioning. With about 200 meters to go, Tune stepped in front of Kosgei and ran in the lead for a few strides. But as the finish line approached, Kosgei regained the lead and
