Meb Keflezighi Pulls Out of Boston MarathonPublished by
The American contingent headed to Boston for the Boston Marathon on April 15 just got a little smaller. On Friday morning, Keflezighi and Boston Marathon race sponsor John Hancock posted a release, explaining his withdrawl. Keflezighi stated, “Despite my best efforts, a nagging injury to my calf has not healed sufficiently, so I have to withdraw from the Boston Marathon.” Withdrawing from the race comes as a surprise, as the Boston Marathon is only ten days out and Keflezighi skipped the NYC Half Marathon in March in order to get his calf fully healthy. Fellow American Ryan Hall withdrew from the event in March with an injury, as well.
