After a year it still pains him to remember how he lost the World Marathon Majors race to Eritrean-born American runner Meb Keflezighi. "I did not see Meb until we were all on a flat course. For me I thought he was a pacesetter but later learned that he was competing and beating him with the distance he had was too big for me," said Chebet. The race, which has been dominated by Kenyans, will be a big chase to the podium for Chebet who will try to attack Geoffrey Mutai’s course record of 2:03:02 that was, until last fall, the unofficial fastest time ever over the 42.195km distance until Dennis Kimetto ran the standing world record of 2:02:58 in Berlin last year.
